Southern Star has been involved in the Towing & Recovery business for more than 35 years. This is a family owned business started by Carl Cici and his family in 1973 in New York. Moving to Charlotte in 1992. We are a 3rd generation Towing and Recovery company who intends to grow as the City of Charlotte continues to grow.

Our business strives on Quality, Service, and Dependability. Our belief is that people should be treated as people, not by their background and not by the kind of vehicle that they drive. We take pride in the fact that whatever job is asked of us, we are capable of handling. We are able to handle a wide array of towing and recovery needs. From tool boxes to automobiles to tractor trailers to construction equipment.

Our employee's have experience ranging from 30+ years to 2 years. Many of our driver's hold certificates in multi-level towing and recovery training, on the state as well as the national level.

As a Towing & Recovery business, we are capable of doing simple towing to major recoveries of overturned tractor trailers. We have experience in the handling of motorcycles, light passenger vehicles, light and heavy duty truck towing as well as equipment transport. We have drivers and management that are able to provide Incident Management, as well as handling opening the roadway as soon as possible to allow for the flow of traffic.

Growing up in the towing business, David and Jamie was taught by their Dad how to operate a tow truck at a very young age. They are experienced in light, medium and heavy duty towing, and recovery, plus rollback and tractor trailer experience. And level 2/3 and 4/5 Wreck-master certifications and have also trained with Wes Wilburn for light and heavy towing and recovery . They have a class A CDL license. And experience with equipment hauling, with recoveries on all levels, as well as incident management .
